White-knuckle rides, thrilling entertainers and prize produce helped to make the 46th Peterlee Show a big success.
Families flocked to the Pavilion Sports and Community Centre in Helford Road.
Organised by Peterlee Town Council, attractions include Noble’s fun fair, musicians playing live on stage and a main arena for performers including the 3 Sixty mountain bike display.
The pavilion featured the best locally-grown flowers and vegetables for the Horticultural Show.
Mayor of Peterlee Councillor Scott Meikle said: “I think it’s great. The show is well put together, it’s in its 46th year which is an achievement in itself, and to be the high standard that it is.”
Coun Meikle said the show was the culmination of 11 months of hard work adding: “The events team will have two or three weeks rest, then next month they will start again.
“As long as the people of Peterlee keep supporting it we will keep putting events on.
“It is a benefit to the people and also brings other people and business into the town.”
Tribute acts Bon Jovi Forever, Oasish and Meet Loaf were due to perform on Saturday night.
Tomorrow's programme also includes a 5k run, dog show, display of council vehicles plus Abba and George Michael tribute acts.
