Ex-Everton, Manchester United boss David Moyes will use Premier League experience at Sunderland

The Black Cats boss has overseen the club's poorest start to a season and the equal worst in Premier League history, equal with Manchester City's two points from 10 matches in the 1995-96 season.

After the 4-1 home hammering from title challengers Arsenal, there was no talk of walking away from the man who took the Stadium of Light hotseat just over three months ago.

"I'm experienced," said the Scot who has over 460 Premier League games under his belt as a manager of Everton, Manchester United and now Sunderland.

"I've not been in this position before but I'm experienced, I've had lots of games in the Premier League.

"I'll keep doing what I do and keep working them."

Moyes felt the final scoreline was unfair on his side who had battled back to level when Jermain Defoe scored his fifth goal of the programme when he converted a 65th-minute penalty after Petr Cech brought down Duncan Watmore.

But having got back into the contest, they leaked three goals inside seven minutes, sub Olivier Giroud scoring twice and Alexis Sanchez completing a brace, having put the Gunners ahead in the first half.

"We've stuck at against a team of better quality than us, we grew into it, got back into it, but in the end the difference was what they were able to bring off the bench," said Moyes.

"I'm really disappointed to concede four goals.

"I'm not saying it flattered Arsenal, but I don't think we deserved that.

"We just have to do better."

Sunderland travel to Bournemouth this coming Saturday, the Cherries lying 10th, a full 10 points above the Black Cats.
