More than 5,000 premises in Sunderland and Seaham have had their power restored after this morning's power cut.
The Northern Powergrid said the blackout had affected 5,120 properties in the SR2 and SR7 postcode areas, which is around Ryhope and Seaham.
The power cut had been caused by a problem on the electricity network which supplies those areas.
It was reported at 7.13am this morning and was restored across the whole area by 9.20am.
A number of people reported the power went off momentarily in the Seaham area last night.
