Youngsters at a Sunderland primary school are on the ball when it comes to raising cash for charity.
The children at Richard Avenue Primary decided to hold a sports day to boost funds for their partner children.
The event was to raise funds for sponsoring seven children’s education in Africa.
Each year group throughout the school has an individual child that they sponsor.
The school also has a home charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind, which they also raise money for.
Pat Lamb, a teacher at the Hurstwood Road school, said: “All children were encouraged to think of others by trying to raise sponsorship. All year groups took part from Nursery to Year 6.
“There were lots of sporting events such as multi sports and fitness trails, running, and tennis skills. The teachers had a teacher tennis match too. The day was enjoyed by all.”
