EAST Durham College’s Technical Academy has hosted its 2015 trade day event.

A wide range of companies from the construction, building and engineering industry attended the event to give demonstrations of their latest product innovations and new technology.

More than 30 companies attended at the Palmer Road site including Baxi, Energas, Eagle Welding, Grundfos and Knauf.

Along with these companies’ stands, other areas exhibiting on the day including The Army Reserve, The Royal Navy, Durham Police PCSOs, One Awards and 4Real – drug and alcohol service for County Durham.

Rob Hutchinson, centre manager, believes that these events are a fantastic opportunity for the students to meet industry face to face and provide them with a unique way of learning.

Rob said: “The aim of this event was to bring industry and our students together and in doing so give our valued stakeholders the platform to showcase the very latest technology, products and practices that are now being used in the industry.”
