LOVED-UP Chris Brooker and Hannah Grayson picked up more than just their degrees when they graduated this week.

When the pair met in June 2010, Hannah needed to be convinced that their relationship would last.

In a bid to prove to her that he was in it for the long haul, Durham University student Chris contacted a bookmaker and requested odds on the two still being together come their graduation day.

The love-struck student was offered odds of 6/1 that his prediction would come true and he promptly staked £100 on the bet.

Two years on and with the couple still going strong, Chris was able to return to William Hill and collect his £600, capping a fine day on which both he and Hannah were awarded 2:1 degrees.

Joe Crilly, a spokesman for the betting firm, congratulated Chris on his winning bet and said: “Chris has probably had to spend less time boozing with the boys and more time watching Jeremy Kyle and Neighbours to ensure that his relationship lasted the course.”

Chris thanked William Hill for their help in convincing Hannah he was the one for her.

He said: “Cheers for helping me come up with this bet. Hannah did not think I was as committed to the relationship as she was and this was my way of proving to her that I was.”
