Pupils sing to crowds

SCHOOLS went for a song when they performed before delighted audiences.

Choirs and orchestras from 13 primary and two secondary schools sung and performed to halls at Durham Johnston and St Leonard’s, as term ended.

The One Sun One World musical productions gave students the opportunity to perform with an orchestra made up from the comprehensives and musicians from Durham Music Service.

Adrian Biddulph, manager of the Durham County Council-run service, said: “The project has been a fabulous experience from start to end, where primary schools have been able to examine changes brought about by human activities in the world today.

“Everyone involved should be very proud of their achievement.”
