A DURHAM University campus will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with a visit from a world-renowned fertility expert.
Professor Lord Robert Winston will be delivering a lecture to mark the 20th anniversary of Durham University’s Queen’s Campus in Stockton.
The event will be held at the campus on Monday at 3pm, and the lecture will be free and open to the public.
The well-known fertility expert and television presenter’s talk will be entitled “Hope, hyperbole and honesty: engaging with medical research”.
Prof Winston’s visit also marks the official opening of the GP training facility in the new 4th wing of the campus’s Wolfson Building, which is a state-of-the-art primary care training facility in partnership with Health Education North East, formerly known as the NHS Northern Deanery.
Prof Lord Winston said: “I am delighted to be attending the anniversary of this development at Durham University which will continue to be important in education and research in the United Kingdom as well as being a major focus in the North East.”
Prof Jo Phoenix, Dean of Queen’s Campus, said: “We are very pleased to mark this occasion with a visitor as auspicious as Lord Professor Winston.”
