NURSERY youngsters donned their best costumes to celebrate being among the best in the country.
Pennywell Early Years Centre held a reading celebration day to mark its amazing sixth consecutive outstanding Ofsted report.
Claire Nicholson, headteacher at the nursery, in Portsmouth Road, said: “We had a brilliant day.
“All the children came dressed up and we had a huge range of characters.
“We have been teaching the children about the wider world, which is often difficult for little ones to grasp.
“We thought one way of doing that was through stories and characters in books.”
Pupils’ costumes ranged from animals, such as monkeys and tigers, to Disney characters, superheroes and pirates.
Mrs Nicholson said: “It was a great way for everyone to come together. The parents had worked really hard on the costumes and put a lot of thought into it.
“Everyone had a wonderful time. There is always a lot of enthusiasm.”
Mrs Nicholson said to get six outstanding Ofsted reports represented a massive achievement, which just a handful of schools across the country can boast.
She said: “We are very proud of our children. The children are amazing, the parents are amazing and together with the staff, make a fantastic team
