Meer cats join in Christmas celebrations

THREE cheeky visitors will be joining in the fun of Christmas at a yearly festive fair.

East Durham College staff and students are busy putting the finishing touches to plans for the annual Houghall Campus Traditional Christmas Fair. A new feature will see cheeky visitors Timon, Nala and Bandit the meerkats making an appearance between 11am to Noon, along with Miss Pickles the Pygmy Hedgehog.

The fair will be taking place at the college’s Houghall Campus in Durham on Sunday, December 8, between 10am and 4pm.

The event will feature a host of different activities for all the family including festive stalls, free face painting, bird of prey demonstrations and a Santa’s Grotto where every child will receive a free gift.

It will also feature entertainment from East Durham College Choir, who will be singing an assortment of Christmas carols.

There will also be Christmas trees and wreaths for sale, as well as a number of food and craft stalls.
