Inspiration for teens

Have your say

SCHOOLGIRLS were inspired by stories of success to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Teenagers met businesswomen and councillors at the event at County Hall, in Durham.

Staff from colleges and Durham County Council gave advice on careers and training.

Council chairman Dennis Morgan and vice-chairman Linda Marshall were behind the event.

Among those who met the schoolgirls were Coun Marshall’s daughter Sally Beth, 18, who travelled to Sri Lanka to work as a volunteer, as well as MP Roberta Blackman Woods and farmers’ wife, JP and Deputy Lord Lieutenant Sue Snowdon.
