FAMILIES enjoyed the fun of the fair.
The Friends of Seaham School (Foss), which brings together parents and teachers, hosted the carnival day, raising an estimated £2,000.
Cake decorating, clay modelling and stalls selling baked goodies and plants were run alongside bouncy castles, go-karts and a rodeo bull ride.
Businesses from the town also took part in the event, along with community representatives including the police and support groups.
Funds raised will be used to improve facilities at the school.
Lynn Whitehead, assistant headteacher and member of Foss, said: “This has been the first big thing we have organised and it was such a huge success. We’re thinking about holding it again next year and making it even bigger.”
