East Durham College has been given a good review by the body responsible for monitoring quality in higher education.
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) judged the college’s academic standards, the quality of its student learning opportunities and the information about its learning opportunities meets UK expectations. However, they said the enhancement of its student-learning opportunities required improvement to meet the required level.
Principal Suzanne Duncan said: “We are pleased the inspectors judged our academic standards and the quality of learning opportunities at East Durham College as meeting UK expectations, as well as highlighting areas of good practice.
“We are working very closely with the University of Sunderland to ensure we fully meet expectations in terms of the enhancement of our student-learning opportunities.”
