Easington Academy has seen another year of success, with 67% of students gaining five or more GCSE’s at A* - C grade or above.
Headteacher Toni Spoors said the grades consolidated the academy’s position as one of the county’s top performing schools.
She said: “At national level early indications suggest that there has been a decline in the number of students gaining A and A* grades. This has not been the case at the academy, where there has been an increase in students attaining the top grade, with over 20% of students achieving 3 A* - A grades or more. .
“Another measure of the academy’s success is the progress that students have made while at this academy. In English 95% of students made expected progress and 55% made more than expected progress and in “Maths 75% of students made expected progress with 39% of students making more than expected progress.
“These figures compare very favourably with other schools at both local and national level.”
Miss Spoors added: “The school is delighted with this year’s examination results, and congratulations go out to students and staff who have worked hard to make this another successful year.”
