Students at New College Durham are celebrating a year of great A-level results.
After anxiously waiting for their A-level results, the Sixth Form Centre students at New College Durham discovered they had no need to worry.
The hard work of students and staff led to a 100% pass rate in 16 subjects including biology, physics, chemistry, English Language, English Literature, history, geography, law and sociology.
With an overall pass rate of 99% the majority of students now look forward to studying at university.
Among the successful students are Sarah Lisgo and Poppy Whitworth.
Sarah, 18, from Washington, achieved one A* and two As and will study English Literature at York University.
Poppy, 19, from Durham, scooped three As and will study bio-medicine at Newcastle University.
Jon Ridley, Head of Sixth Form, said: “This year’s excellent pass rate reflects the hard work and commitment of the students over the past two years and the dedication of our expert teaching staff.
“We wish our students every success as they now embark on their next step.”
