Durham High School for Girls sees almost 99% of pupils gain A*-C GCSE grades

AN all-girls private school is celebrating a great year of GCSE results.

Durham High School for Girls – the only all-girls school in County Durham – saw 98.97% of its pupils get passes at A*-C.

Its breakdown of top grades is as follows:

% of passes at A* – 43.6%

% of passes at A*/A – 73.35%

% of passes at A*/B – 90.70%

% of passes at A*/C – 98.97%

Headmistress Lynne Renwick said special congratulations went Lucy Walker on achieving 13 A*s, Anusha Ashok, Lois Conway, Victoria Milbanke and Emily Morris on achieving 11A*s ; Aimee Bowen, Eleanor Butler, Molly Cronin, Charlotte Diamond, Athena Fernyhough, Tia Jobbins, Gayathri Nair, Kate Potts, Maura Selvarajah, Jessica Stewart and Johanna Stroud on achieving 11A*/As.

She said, “We are celebrating another record year of outstanding GCSE results and I am absolutely thrilled by them. They represent a tremendous achievement for both pupils and staff who have worked incredibly hard to achieve this level of success. Well done to everyone.”
