SUNDERLAND College says it is celebrating another good year of results.
Government league tables show the Wearside college is one of the best performing colleges in the region for A-level and vocational qualifications.
Nigel Harrett, vice principal, said: “2013 was a strong year for Sunderland College. We celebrated achieving a 99 per cent pass rate at A-level for the fifth consecutive year, and these results are testament to the effort and commitment shown by everyone at the college.
“Our hard work delivering high quality education and training is paying off among learners on both vocational and A-level courses.
“Our focus is always on delivering exceptional teaching to make sure every student realises their potential.
“Our years of experience in delivering teaching and support services mean that we continue to achieve excellent results, and we’ll be building on this with the addition of new multimillion pound Sports and Visual and Performing Arts Academies at Bede Campus, which will open in September.”
Mr Harrett added: “Our strong vocational courses, which prepare students for employment and higher education, resulted in students achieving an average of a distinction grade in their chosen field.”
