East Durham College will once again be offering a cash reward scheme to full-time students.

Anyone aged 16 to 18 on or before August 31 who will be studying full-time, will have the opportunity to receive cash rewards whilst at one of college’s campuses.

The first reward offer is for students from households with an income of £25,000 or below.

They can receive up to £360 for the academic year, paid at £10 per week, subject to attendance, excellent behaviour and assignment / homework completion.

The second is for students from households with an income of £25,001 or above.

They can receive up to £100 for the academic year, getting paid £50 in February and £50 in July, again subject to the specifications.

The benefits are also available to students aged 16 to 25 on that date if they have a statement of special educational needs.

The college recently announced it will also once again run a free bus partnership for all students with Arriva North East.

Students also have access to free gym, free parking, free print and free WiFi amongst other benefits.

East Durham College principal Suzanne Duncan said she believes the cash scheme is a great way to reward the hard work of the students throughout the year.

“We are pleased to be able to offer our students this fantastic cash reward scheme,” she said.

“We want to be able to award our students’ hard work throughout the year.

“We are sure all our students and potential students joining in September 2016 will continue to work really hard when the new academic year begins.”
