Clement and la Frenais feature on latest round of Sunderland lectures

SOME of the North East’s most famous faces return to Sunderland to present a series of free talks at the city’s university.

Beginning with the face of TV architecture Sunderland-born George Clarke, the free 2013-14 Discover series starts on Friday, November 8, at the Murray Library Lecture Theatre in Chester Road.

The series will continue until May 2014, with upcoming talks by Dick Clement and Ian la Frenais, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first broadcast of Auf Weidersehen Pet and the 40th anniversary of the first broadcast of The Likely Lads and Kate Adie, who will discuss her career as a TV war correspondent, and launch her new book.
