CITY of Sunderland College is encouraging people to take on a new challenge.
Its part-time courses are designed for adults who want to improve their skills to gain a recognised qualification.
Sue Wallis, assistant principal (adult and employer provision), said: “They are ideal for learners who wish to retrain or set up their own business, or even for people who have been out of work and would benefit from refreshing their skills and boosting their confidence.
“Some people might want to brush up on their maths and English skills, whereas others may want to pursue a new career in catering, accounting or sports.”
Other courses include ICT and networking, gas technology, coaching, catering and hospitality, renewable energy, energy assessing and teaching.
Open evenings to showcase the courses take place on Tuesday at the Hylton Skills Campus, and on Wednesday at Shiney Row Campus, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
