CARING teenagers are bridging the generation gap by helping older people in their community.

Pupils from Park View Community School in Chester-le-Street are holding a coffee morning for pensioners as part of their National Citizenship Service.

The event will be held in the school dining room tomorrow between 9am and 11am.

The morning has been organised by a group of 15, 16-17 year-old students from the school’s sixth form.

Daniel Thompson, 16, said: “We wanted to do something which would help those living in the local community.”
