The success of twin sisters at St Anthony’s Girls’ Catholic Academy was cause for celebration today.
Hannah and Sarah Mearns delighted their teachers by netting identical grades in their A-levels.
The 18-year-old sisters, from Sunderland, had plenty to smile about as they collected their results - which revealed their chosen university place.
Both girls, who thought that their exams went “okay”, scored identical A grades in biology, chemistry and maths.
Hannah added: “We’re really happy.”
The girls will go on to study biomedical sciences at Newcastle University in September.
