A helping hand for students

Have your say

A NEW advice line is being launched for students coming to Sunderland’s university.

The Sunderland Students’ Union will help students navigate the twists and turns that university life throws up.

They can access professional and tailored support for many issues, including academic appeals, plagiarism and misconduct allegations, housing, finance, immigration, disciplinary action, complaints and fitness to practice hearings.

All requests for support will go through the main Students’ Union reception on the ground floor of the Edinburgh Building at the Sunderland City Campus, Chester Road, or appointments can be booked in advance by e-mailing su.studentadvice@sunderland.ac.uk or phoning 0191 515 3030.

A spokesman for the Student Union said: “All appointments will take place in a safe and confidential space with advisors who are there to listen and to help students choose the best course of action for them.

“The Students’ Union aims for students to feel empowered to resolve the issue they are facing as quickly and easily as possible.”
