Durham library security guard sent naked pictures of himself to schoolgirl he was grooming for sex

A LIBRARY security guard who groomed a schoolgirl for sex has been jailed.

Andrew Lloyd was working at Clayport library in Millennium Place, Durham City.

Durham Crown Court 
was told that Lloyd made friends with the girl while she was visiting the library and give her his mobile phone number.

They exchanged texts before he told the girl he loved her and wanted to perform sex acts with her and sent a naked picture of himself. Lloyd, 38, of Katherine Street, Darlington, admitted three charges of inciting a girl under 13 years to engage in sexual activity.

Judge Deborah Sherwin jailed Lloyd for 32 months.

He was made the subject of a five-year sexual offences prevention order banning him from unsupervised contact with any child under 16 years and must register as a sex offender for life.
