The Footballers’ Club is to host a fundraiser in aid of St John’s Church on Saturday at 11.30am.

Inside there will be Pet Party North East with a variety of animals including snakes, spiders, geckos, rabbits, and tortoise. Soley Candles including making your own candles, Kids Bee Happy Art, sweet tombola, cakes, refreshments, mystery bottles in a bag , card and craft stall. Outside there will be a tea cup ride, adult and kids bouncy castle and a selection of stalls. Also an appearance from Snow White from SJ Entertainment. Entrance will be 50p per person together with charges for tea cup ride and bouncy castles.

On Saturday evening, vocalist Paul Michael appears at Brandon and Meadowfield RBL Club. Further information on forthcoming attractions is available from club steward Colin Young on 0191 378 0037.

On Friday between 1pm and 3pm, the Oriental Museum invites families to learn about writing in ancient Egypt and make a stone tablet to take home.

From Saturday until the following Friday between 1pm and 3pm, Palace Green Library will hold a family session on kings did not sign documents like the Magna Carta to make them official, they sealed them. The library will then invite all to make their own clay seal to take home.

On Monday, August 24, from 11am until 4pm, the zoo comes the Botanic Garden, from cute and cuddly to smooth and scaly, all are invited to meet the incredible range of friendly animals visiting the garden for the day. The garden recommends visitors use the kiosk entrance and park at the park and ride.
