Durham Cathedral is holding its annual Benedictine Week.

The cathedral was once a Benedictine Monastery home to almost 100 monks, and the rule of St Benedict shaped their daily lives.

The Cathedral’s Benedictine Week provides a unique insight into the Benedictine way of life, both through the monastic and present history of the cathedral.

Benedictine Week starts on September 14 and finishes on Friday 18 September. Accommodation is available for those who require it at St Chad’s College, part of Durham University.
