The Wearsiders squeezed home 3-2 in an entertaining final against Horden Community Welfare.

Lee Pearce, star man Callum Hodgson and sub Stephen Wright came up trumps for Glasshus, with Hayden Pace and David Paul on target for Horden.

Barney Dobinson stood out for Horden, who had Joe Bell red-carded.

The sides will meet against in the League Challenge Cup final at Nissan on Wednesday (7.30pm).

Hylton Sports Club are through to a cup final in their first season – and they will meet Hall Farm Glasshus in the Mark Blake Memorial Trophy final at Nissan tomorrow (3pm).

They secured their spot in the final the hard way, holding newly-crowned champions Wheatley Hill WMC to a goalless draw before edging home 3-2 in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

Kieran Stokoe was Hylton’s man of the match, with Lee Westgarth best for Wheatley.

The final league game of the season came on Monday night, with Hall Farm Glasshus turning on the style in a thrilling 5-3 success at home to West Auckland Tunns.

Bradley Timm, star man Callum Hope, Lee Pearce, Tom Clifford and Michael Leadbitter all got in on the act for Glasshus.

Tunns, whose defeat meant that they missed out on finishing runners-up, relied on a clinical Stephen Brunskill hat-trick for their consolation goals.
