A taxi driver had to be cut free from his car after an accident in Sunderland.
Fire crews were called to the collision, involving a BMW and Ford Mondeo, which happened on the A690 near the Lidl store, at about 7.45pm on Saturday night.
As a result of the collision, the Mondeo hit traffic lights. Fire crews cut open the roof of the car to release the driver who was then taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital but later released.
The driver and passenger in the BMW were able to get out themselves.
The road was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the collision.
