ARE you dreaming of a white Christmas?

Well those dreams look set to be dashed as the Met Office forecasts plenty of clear skies over the festive period.

Temperatures are set to fall with overnight frosts – but there’s no sign of the snow flurries needed to leave a beautiful coating in time for Christmas Day.

The Met Office forecast states cloud and rain will gradually ease out of the region this evening, allowing clearer, drier and colder conditions in from the northwest with isolated showers. Temperatures will be around 2C overnight then 6C during the day.

It adds: “Brighter but colder tomorrow with a chilly northwesterly wind and some sunshine. Mainly dry in the east, apart from isolated showers – more frequent and heavy in the north and west.

“Christmas day will see a frosty start then mainly dry and cold with sunshine and isolated showers. A widespread hard frost overnight then mostly dry Friday, with wind and rain overnight and during Saturday.”
