Double injury scare for Sunderland as Jan Kirchhoff and Billy Jones limp out of friendly

Sunderland have been handed a double injury scare as they lost TWO players before half-time in their friendly against Montpellier.

Jan Kirchhoff and Billy Jones both limped out of the action inside the first 30 minutes.

German midfielder Kirchhoff pulled up off the ball after just 20 minutes, and after a few minutes of trying to play on, he signalled to the bench he couldn't continue and walked from the field.

Within four minutes, right-back Billy Jones also limped off the pitch to be replaced by Seb Larsson as David Moyes was forced to make two changes to his team before the break.

Sunderland have yet to sign a player this summer, and the squad remains depleted ahead of the Premier League kick off in a fortnight.
