Dog walker, 42, dies after being hit by car

A woman has died after being struck by a car while out walking.

The 42-year-old was hit by a SAAB which was travelling south east of Coalford Lane, Littletown toward Haswell Plough.

The incident happened early Tuesday evening. The woman, from Littletown, was taken to James Cook Memorial Hospital.

Durham Police have now confirmed the woman has died in hospital.
