Delighted with support

Can I thank all the kind hearted and generous people and organisations from Durham and the surrounding area who supported me during my walk for charity Meningitis Now, from Morpeth in Northumberland to Stonehouse in Gloucestershire last month.

The walk went through the Durham area on Sunday, October 9 and I was delighted to raise £1,785.

This contributed to my overall target of £50,000 for the lifesaving and life-changing work of Meningitis Now. I know it will make a huge difference to people at risk of meningitis and those whose lives have been changed forever already because of it. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Meningitis Now, in its 30th anniversary year this year, is working towards a future where no one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need.

It does this by funding research into vaccines and prevention, raising awareness so people know what to look for and what action to take if they suspect meningitis and rebuilding futures by providing dedicated support to people living with the impact of the disease.
