FILM fans are in for a rare treat when legendary film producer Lord David Puttnam presents a free showing of the Oscar and Bafta-winning film, The Killing Fields.
Lord Puttnam, who was Chancellor of the university between 1997 and 2007, has recorded a special introduction for the University of Sunderland, which will be shown before the free screening tomorrow at the David Puttnam Media Cinema, Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter’s.
The film, which was produced by Lord Puttnam, won three Oscars and eight Baftas and is considered a modern classic.
The special screening starts at 1pm.
As well as producing films, Lord Puttnam has also forged a successful career as a politician and advertising executive.
