KING of the oche Phil “the Power” Taylor and other darts stars were on Wearside to give fans a masterclass.
The 16-times World Champion was on show at The Benfield Nissan Darts Masters, at a packed Nissan Sports and Leisure Complex.
Taylor is not only the greatest player ever to pick up dart, but is also the UK’s most successful sportsman of all time in terms of major title triumphs.
He was joined by former world champion Mark Webster, Australia’s top player Simon Whitlock and former world youth champion James Hubbard.
The players battled it out in an exhibition match, as top class darts headed back to Sunderland for the event’s fourth staging, though for Taylor it was his first appearance.
“I’m really excited about this event,” said Taylor, from Stoke, who is currently a star of the ongoing Premier League of Darts which is shown on Sky Sports.
