DAREDEVIL Martin Harper is celebrating after taking fund-raising to new heights – four times over.
The engineer, of Lambton, Washington, braved four stomach-turning drops in the space of just two hours.
First, the 32-year-old whizzed along a 250ft zipwire, before a 150ft free abseil.
Then it was straight back up to the platform for a jump with only one cable to cling on to, known as a power fan, followed by an indoor bungee jump, both also from 150ft.
Martin tackled the so-called Awesome Foursome in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
He said: “It went really well. It was a good laugh. The worst thing about it is having to climb the steps three times and it’s a bit nerve-wracking when you see just how high up you are, but to me it’s fun.”
Martin decided to try to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support after the charity helped his family. He paid for the day himself so that all the money he raises can go to Macmillan.
At the moment, that figure stands at £615, the target having been £600.
Thrillseeker Martin has not ruled out another audacious fund-raising attempt.
He said: “In the past I’ve done parachute jumps and bungee jumps so it would have to be something bigger and even more challenging.”
