After yesterday’s win over Scotland, do you think England will win rugby’s Grand Slam?
DESPITE not hitting their best form, England’s rugby union stars kept alive their hopes of a Six Nations Grand Slam yesterday.
They managed just one try in their 22-16 triumph over Scotland in the Calcutta Cup in what coach Martin Johnson said could well be a welcome wake-up call ahead of this weekend’s final match against Ireland in Dublin.
“It was not a bad game for us to go into next week,” Johnson insisted.
“When everyone is telling you how good you are it can leak in a little bit.
“We’ll be in a fight next week. We know we can play a lot better.”
Ireland lost 19-13 to Wales at the weekend while Italy inflicted a shock 22-21 defeat on France.
