A WOMAN returned home to find a burglar raiding her home.

Police are appealing for information after jewellery was stolen in the burglary.

The home owner was returning home at 12.35pm yesterday when she discovered the man in her Herrington home.

The burglar ran off from the house in possession of a white pillowcase with stolen jewellery inside.

The woman was shocked but was not injured.

The man is described as white, aged in his mid 20s, between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 8ins tall of medium build, with dark eyes. He was wearing a black quilted jacket with the hood up and light grey jogging bottoms.

It’s believed the area was busy at the time and police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch, in particular anyone who saw a man of this description in possession of a pillow case, which may have looked like a white bag.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
