Woman left with broken collarbone after being pushed to the ground in Sunderland city centre
An investigation is ongoing after a woman was pushed to the ground and suffered a broken collarbone following an ‘altercation’ in a city centre street.
A 22-year-old woman suffered a broken collarbone after she was pushed to the ground in Derwent Street, Sunderland.
Police officers will be reviewing CCTV footage as they launch an investigation into the incident.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “Officers have launched an investigation after receiving a report a woman was pushed over outside a premises on Derwent Street, Sunderland.
"It was reported that between 1am and 4am on Sunday (August 16) a verbal altercation occurred and a 22-year-old woman was pushed to the ground, resulting in a broken collarbone.
“Enquiries in to the incident are ongoing and officers will be reviewing CCTV footage. Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the website quoting log 569 160820.”
The incident is believed to have taken place near Gatsby.
