Vandals slash police car’s tyres in Sunderland

VANDALS attacked a police car as officers were dealing with another crime.

All four tyres on the car were slashed after it parked in a Hendon street.

Police officers were called to Cairo Street after reports of an altercation between two people.

The crime was one of 19 reported in the Long Streets area of the city over the last six weeks.

These included 10 cars being damaged by thieves prompting police to warn motorists about hiding valuables and locking up their vehicles.
