A MAN has been charged after an alleged assault at a Sunderland petrol station.

Police have charged Michael Thomas Hilton, 32, from Balmoral Terrace, East Herrington, with attempt wounding with intent to commit GBH and possessing a blade or pointed article.

He will appear at Sunderland Magistrates Court on November 19.

The incident happened at about 5.43pm yesterday when a passenger’s neck was cut while he sat in a car parked in the forecourt of the Tesco Express petrol station in Silksworth Lane.
