POLICE have found the injured man whose severed piece of ear was discovered in Sunderland city centre.
The section of flesh was found in the street and reported to Sunderland Royal Hospital, who informed the police at about 7am yesterday.
Officers believed it could be linked to an altercation thought to have happened at 5.15am the same morning in Derwent Street, off Park Lane and Stockton Road.
A police spokesman said: “The injured man aged 26 has been located and he has received treatment at Sunderland Royal Hospital and has been released. “
