Uncle in court for Jordan Cooper killing

A MAN accused of stabbing his 14-year-old nephew to death has appeared in court.

Alan Cooper, 31, did not enter a plea to the charge of murdering Jordan Cooper during a short hearing at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday.

Jordan died from stab wounds after an incident at a house in Newriggs, Washington, Tyne and Wear, in the early hours of March 1.

Cooper, of no fixed address, will be back in court for a hearing on July 11.

A provisional trial date has been set for September.

Cooper was remanded in custody in the meantime.
