Two men arrested after armed police called to late-night 'disturbance' in Hylton Road

Officers were first called to an address in Hylton Road, Sunderland, at 11.10pm on Wednesday, October 14, after Northumbria Police received intelligence they may have had access to a firearm.
Two men inside the property were arrested and remain in police custody at this time.

Hide AdInquiries into the incident are ongoing and a search of the property did not uncover any weapons.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 11.10pm yesterday (Wednesday) we received a report of a disturbance at an address on Hylton Road, Sunderland.
“Officers attended and arrested two occupants after receiving intelligence that they may have access to a firearm. The two men remain in police custody at this time.
“A search of the property was carried out and officers were satisfied no weapons were present. Nobody has been reported to have been injured and enquiries are ongoing.”
