Two charged in Sunderland stabbing

POLICE investigating the stabbing of a 53-year-old man have charged two men in connection with the attack.

The victim, named locally as George Dagg, was found with a life-threatening leg injury in Purley Road, Plains Farm, at 4.20am on Monday.

He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Two men, Jack Ryan, 21, and Jess Ryan, 24, both of Toronto Road, Thorney Close, Sunderland, have been charged with wounding with intent and affray.

The pair were expected to appear before Sunderland Magistrates’ Court today.
