Two arrested after hammer robbery in Sunderland

POLICE are appealing for information after a raid in Sunderland.

The break-in happened around 3.30pm on Tuesday, May 6, when three men, one armed with a hammer, went into an address in Sorley Street in the city centre.

A number of items were stolen from the address, including a watch and cash.

One of the occupants was threatened by the men and was left shaken but noone was injured.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the incident and asking anyone who has any information to contact them.

Two men aged 21 and 23 have been arrested in connection with the burglary and have been released on police bail.
