Two arrested after body found in Sunderland hostel

TWO people arrested by police during investigations into the death of a Sunderland man have been charged.

The body of Lee Richard Hall, aged 37, was discovered by staff at the Salvation Army’s Swan Lodge in High Street East, on Friday, January 18.

The centre accommodates up to 65 single homeless people aged, over 18, through a direct access programme.

Robert Wallace, 26, of The Drive, in Sulgrave, Washington, has been charged by police with common assault.

Thirty-year-old Kevin Imre Ord, of Swan Lodge, has been charged with the same offence.

Both men will appear before Sunderland Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 17.

A 22-year-old man also arrested following the death of Mr Hall has been released with no further action, Northumbria Police confirmed.
