Three-year-old child knocked down in Sunderland

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a three-year-old child was knocked over in Sunderland.

The incident happened at 5pm on Premier Road on Tuesday, April 29.

The child was taken to hospital suffering cuts and bruises.

Initial enquiries suggest a car collided with the child as the child walked out between parked cars.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene, however, left before police arrived.

Officers are keen to speak to the driver to establish what happened and would urge the driver - believed to be a man driving a black car - to get in contact.
