Three cars set on fire in arson attack in Sunderland prompts police appeal for witnesses

A POLICE appeal has been launche after three cars were set on fire in Sunderland.

Two vehicles, a Peugeot 2008 and a Mercedes) were set ablaze while parked in Villette Brook Street between 3am and 3.10am on Monday.

More than an hour later a third car, a silver Nissan Almera was set on fire in Cairo Street.

No one was injured but all three vehicles were seriously damaged.

The blazes are being treated as arson and police are appealing for witnesses.
