THREE people have been arrested after a number of people were injured during a disturbance in Pennywell.

Police were called to Padgate Road at 10.10am on Tuesday, to reports of criminal damage to a vehicle and an ongoing disturbance.

Two men, aged 41 and 36, were taken to hospital with head injuries, and a 34-year-old woman was treated for an ear injury.

The incident is thought to be linked to an assault on a 15-year-old girl at the same address earlier that day. She was not injured.

Police have arrested two men, aged 56 and 26, on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit GBH and a 34-year-old woman on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. All three have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Dave English, from Northumbria Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are continuing today and I’d urge any witnesses to come forward.

“I’d like to reassure people that we have made arrests and it appears those involved were known to each other.

“Anyone with information, no matter how small, should contact us as it could assist with our ongoing investigation.”
