Thieves prey on Sunderland garden to steal hawk

A BIRD of prey has been stolen from its owner’s garden.

The Harris hawk was taken from a shed at the back of a house in Prestwick Road, Sunderland, between 2.30am and 9am, on July 2.

Inspector Kevin Jones, of Northumbria Police, said: “The owner of the bird is very attached to it and upset that it’s been stolen. We want to find out where the hawk is so that we can reunite it with its owner and also find who is responsible.”
